About
A better way to show up for the people counting on you
MeetingSlip is made by SobaSearch, a free directory of recovery meetings across the United States. We built it because the paper slip asks the wrong people to do the checking.
Why we built it
Courts, programs and case managers often ask people in recovery to go to meetings. To prove it, they hand them a slip or a card for the meeting's chair to sign. Chairs are volunteers. Some won't sign, signatures can't be checked, and a slip can't show when someone arrived or whether they stayed. Staff spend time collecting and counting them.
SobaSearch already knew where and when meetings happen. So we built a way for the person who goes to check in with their own phone, confirmed with Face ID, and to share a signed record with the people they choose. Nobody at the meeting has to do anything.
What we believe
The record belongs to the person who went
Nothing is shared until they say so, they can stop at any time, and they can see who looked.
Meetings stay anonymous
No one at the meeting signs, sees, or is asked anything. The app never says what it is for.
Say what a record proves, and what it doesn’t
Every record lists its limits in plain words, so no one has to take our word for it.
Free for the people who go
The app and the ID check cost members nothing. The people who monitor pay.
