Help with MeetingSlip
Email hello@sobasearch.com. A person reads every message. Don't send your verification codes unless we ask for them.
MeetingSlip is not an emergency service. If you’re in crisis, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline). For treatment referrals, call the SAMHSA National Helpline at 1-800-662-4357, free and open 24 hours a day. In danger right now? Call 911.
Common problems
Check-in says I’m too far away
You need to be within about 200 meters of the meeting’s listed address, and your phone needs a good GPS reading. Step outside or near a window, wait a few seconds, and try again. If the address in the listing is wrong, email us the meeting name and the right address.
Check-in isn’t open yet, or has closed
Check-in opens 15 minutes before the scheduled start and closes 30 minutes after it. The app shows the time it opens. If the listed start time is wrong, tell us.
It says a mock location was detected
MeetingSlip refuses check-ins when the phone reports a fake location, for example from a location-spoofing app or developer setting. Turn that off and try again.
I forgot to check out
Your record still shows that you checked in. You can check out until an hour after the meeting ends; after that the record stays “Checked in only.”
Do I have to use Face ID?
Yes. MeetingSlip needs Face ID, Touch ID, or a fingerprint, and asks for it every time you check in or out, so each record shows the phone's enrolled owner checked in. Your face and fingerprints never leave your phone. If the app says your phone isn't set up, add a face or fingerprint first. On iPhone, open Settings, then Face ID & Passcode (or Touch ID & Passcode), and set it up. On Android, open Settings, then Security (or Biometrics), and add a fingerprint or face unlock that your phone lists as strong. Then go back to MeetingSlip and tap the button to check again. Phones without Face ID, Touch ID, or a strong fingerprint sensor can't use MeetingSlip.
Face ID didn’t work at check-in
MeetingSlip records nothing, so try again while check-in is open. If you added or removed a face or fingerprint on your phone, or moved to a new phone, the app asks you to set up Face ID or your fingerprint again first. Then check in as usual.
Why do I need to verify my ID?
Only to share your attendance with a monitor. Face ID shows that the phone's owner checked in. A one-time ID check tells your monitor that the account belongs to you. After a consent screen, our ID verification partner asks for a photo of your driver’s license, ID card, or passport and a selfie, and compares them. It takes a few minutes. If it fails, make sure the photos are sharp and well lit, and try again. A check counts for two years, or until you change the name on your account.
What does MeetingSlip keep from my ID?
Your name as printed on it, your birth year, the type of ID, the issuing country, its expiry date, and whether the check passed. MeetingSlip never keeps the photos, your selfie, your ID number, or your full date of birth. Our ID verification partner keeps the images under its own retention policy, and when you delete your account we ask it to delete them. Details are in the privacy policy.
Who pays for the ID check?
The monitor you share with pays a one-time $10 ID verification fee for each person who shares with them. Members never pay for MeetingSlip or for the ID check.
What does MeetingSlip cost a monitor?
One price a month for the account, by how many members share with it. Free for 1 member, then $49 a month for 2 to 10 members, $99 for 11 to 25, and $199 for 26 to 100. Plus a one-time $10 ID verification fee for each member, on every plan. More than 100 members? Write to hello@sobasearch.com.
I forgot my password
On the sign-in screen, tap Forgot password? and enter your email. If it has a MeetingSlip account, we’ll email you a link to choose a new password. The link works once, for one hour. No email? Check your spam folder, then email us from the address on your account.
Someone needs to check my record
Share the record or a report from the app. They can scan its QR code or enter its code at meetingslip.com/verify. No account needed.
I want to delete my account
In the app, go to Account, then Delete account at the bottom. It erases your MeetingSlip account, records and reports right away, and codes you’ve shared will say the record was deleted at your request. Make and save a report first if you may still need proof. It doesn’t touch a SobaSearch account, if you have one.
Is my MeetingSlip account the same as my SobaSearch account?
No. MeetingSlip accounts are separate. Your SobaSearch email and password don’t sign you in to MeetingSlip, and a MeetingSlip password doesn’t sign you in to sobasearch.com. Create a MeetingSlip account in the app.
