Meeting screen with a map of the check-in circle: You're here, 34 m from the meeting, with a Check in button.
The app's home screen with a streak of days with a meeting and the total number of meetings.

Did someone give you a code?

A case manager, program, court or family member can ask you to share your meetings with them. Here's how.

  1. Install MeetingSlip and make an account with your email.
  2. Open their link, scan their QR code, or go to Account, then Share with a monitor, and type the code.
  3. Check what they'll see and tap Allow. The first time, you check your ID with a photo and a selfie. It's free.
  4. Check in at each meeting. You can stop sharing at any time.
  • No one sees your records until you share one.
  • You can see who opened your records, and when.
  • The app's name, icon and notifications never mention a program or recovery.
  • Your streak counts days with a meeting. Your total sits beside it, so a missed day never resets you to zero.
  • You never pay for the app or the ID check.

What MeetingSlip keeps about you

Only what a record needs. Read the privacy policy.

Saves

  • One location reading when you check in, and one when you check out.
  • The meeting, the times, and how long you stayed.
  • Your name and email. Shared records show your name and a masked email, like j•••@example.com.
  • After an ID check: your name as printed on the ID, your birth year, the type of ID, the country that issued it, its expiry date, and whether the check passed.

Never collects

  • Your location in the background. MeetingSlip reads it only while the app is open.
  • Anything about other people at the meeting. No names, no photos, no nearby phones.
  • Your face or fingerprints. MeetingSlip only learns whether the check passed.
  • Your ID photos, ID number, or full date of birth.
  • Data for ads. There are no ad or analytics tools in the app, and we don’t sell anything about you.

Questions

Which meetings can I check in to?
In-person and hybrid meetings in the SobaSearch directory that have a street address. That includes AA, NA, Al-Anon, SMART Recovery, and many more. Online-only meetings can’t be verified by location.
What if I arrive late?
You can check in until 30 minutes after the scheduled start. After that, check-in closes for that meeting.
What if I forget to check out, or my phone dies?
Your record still shows that you checked in. It says “Checked in only” and won’t count as full attendance. You can check out until an hour after the meeting ends.
Do I have to use Face ID?
Yes. MeetingSlip asks for Face ID, Touch ID, or a fingerprint every time you check in or out, so each record shows the phone’s owner was there. Phones without one can’t use MeetingSlip.
Do I need the ID check, and who pays for it?
Only before you share with someone. You take a photo of your driver’s license, ID card, or passport and a live selfie, and the check compares the two. MeetingSlip never receives the photos. You never pay for it, and it counts for two years.
Can I delete or change a record?
No one can edit a record, including us. You can delete your whole account in the app (Account, then Delete account), which erases all your records and reports.
Will my court or program accept it?
We can’t promise that. Every court, office, and program decides for itself. Show them How it works and ask before you rely on MeetingSlip.
Do I need a SobaSearch account?
No. You create a MeetingSlip account in the app with your email. It is separate from SobaSearch.
