For families
Know they made it to their meeting, without asking every day
They check in at the meeting with their phone. You see it. Nobody else does, and they can stop sharing at any time.
Free for one person, plus a one-time $10 ID check. They never pay.
Three steps
You make a free account and get a code
Choose Family member as your role when you sign up. Then add the person you want to follow, and how many meetings a week they're aiming for, if any.
They enter the code in the free app
They see exactly what you'll see, and tap Allow. They check their ID once, with a photo and a selfie.
You see each meeting they go to
They check in when they arrive and out when they leave. You see the meeting and the times, and can get an email when they check in.
It's their record. They choose to share it.
MeetingSlip works best as an agreement between you, not as surveillance. Here's what you will and won't see.
You'll see
- Which meeting they checked in to
- When they arrived and when they left
- How many meetings this week
- That their ID was checked
You won't see
- Where they are the rest of the time
- Anything said at the meeting
- Their messages, photos or contacts
- Anyone else at the meeting
Why it's hard to fake
What a record shows, and what it doesn't- 01Government ID matched to a live selfieOnce, before anyone shares with you.
- 02Face ID or fingerprint at check-in and check-outThe phone's owner, every time.
- 03Within 200 meters of the meeting's addressOur server works out the distance.
- 04Our server keeps the time, not the phoneFrom 15 minutes before to 30 after the start.
- 05Anyone can verify a recordSigned, unchangeable, with a public check page.
Questions
- Do they have to agree?
- Yes. Nothing is shared until they enter your code in the app and tap Allow. They can stop sharing at any time, and you will see that they stopped.
- Will you see where they are?
- No. You see the meeting they checked in to, and when they arrived and left. MeetingSlip doesn't track their location at any other time.
- What does it cost?
- Following one person is free. You pay a one-time $10 for their ID check when they first share with you. They never pay anything.
- Does anyone at the meeting find out?
- No. No one at the meeting signs or sees anything, and the app's name and notifications never mention recovery.
- What if their phone doesn't have Face ID?
- MeetingSlip needs Face ID, Touch ID, or a strong fingerprint sensor set up on the phone, so phones without one can't use it. For anyone whose phone doesn't, keep your current method for that person.
- Which meetings count?
- In-person and hybrid meetings with a street address, such as AA, NA, Al-Anon, and SMART Recovery. Online-only meetings can't be checked by location, so they don't count.
