Terms of use
MeetingSlip terms of use
Effective October 15, 2026
These terms are the rules for using MeetingSlip. Please read them. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them.
MeetingSlip is operated by The Coaching Platform LLC. "MeetingSlip," "we," and "us" mean The Coaching Platform LLC. MeetingSlip uses the SobaSearch meeting directory. "You" means the person using MeetingSlip. A monitor is someone you choose to share your attendance with, such as a probation or parole officer, a court or treatment program, a case manager or counselor, a sponsor, or a family member or friend. A monitor can choose to get email alerts and summaries about your check-ins (each check-in, missed days, and weekly and monthly summaries). These emails contain only what the monitor can already see in the MeetingSlip web app, and each one that includes your records appears in your access log. These terms add to the SobaSearch terms of use, which also apply. If the two disagree about MeetingSlip, these terms win. Our MeetingSlip privacy policy explains what we collect and why.
If you are in crisis, MeetingSlip can't help in the moment. Please reach out now. Call or text 988 for the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. For treatment referrals and information, call the SAMHSA National Helpline at 1-800-662-4357, free and open 24 hours a day. If someone is in immediate danger, call 911.
1. Who can use MeetingSlip
You must be at least 18 years old and able to agree to these terms. MeetingSlip is meant for use in the United States. You may use MeetingSlip only for your own attendance.
2. Your account
- Your MeetingSlip account is separate from any SobaSearch account. Signing in to one never signs you in to the other.
- Use your real name. It appears on every record and report you share.
- Keep your password and your phone secure. Don't share your account with anyone.
- You're responsible for what happens under your account. If you think someone else has used it, email us right away.
- Keep the email address on your account current, so we can reach you.
3. Face ID or fingerprint
To use MeetingSlip you must set up Face ID, Touch ID, or a fingerprint on your phone and confirm with it each time you check in or out. MeetingSlip doesn't record a check-in or check-out without it. If your phone can't do this, you can't use MeetingSlip. Your phone does the check; we only learn whether it passed (see the privacy policy).
4. ID verification
Before you share your attendance with a monitor in the app, you must verify your ID. You don't need to verify it to use MeetingSlip on your own.
- An identity verification provider does the check for us. You take a photo of a government ID and a selfie, and the provider compares them. By starting a check, you agree to the provider's identity verification terms and notice and its privacy policy, which its check page links to, as well as to these terms.
- Before the check starts, the app asks for your consent to the collection of your face data. You can say no; then you can't share with a monitor.
- Use only your own, valid ID, and take the selfie yourself.
- A check counts for two years. You must verify again after that, or after you change the name on your account, before you share with a new monitor.
- You never pay for an ID check. The monitor you share with pays for it.
- A passed check means the provider found that the ID looked genuine and matched the selfie. It isn't a guarantee: we and the provider can't catch every forged ID.
5. Honest use only
A record is only useful if everyone can trust it. So you agree not to:
- Fake your location, whether with a mock-location app, a GPS spoofer, an emulator, or any other method.
- Change the app, get around its checks, or send our server made-up data.
- Give your phone or your account to someone else so they can check in for you, or check in for someone else.
- Add someone else's face or fingerprint to your phone so they can confirm check-ins for you, or confirm a check-in for someone else.
- Verify with someone else's ID, a forged or altered ID, or a selfie of someone else.
- Edit, forge, or misrepresent a record, report, PDF, QR code, or screenshot.
- Try to break into, overload, or copy our systems, or collect other members' data.
If we find, or reasonably suspect, that a record was faked, we may add a signed note to it marking it invalid or void. Anyone who checks it on the verify page will then see that. We may also suspend or close your account. We may tell the person who received the record when the law requires it or when you have shared the record with them. Faking a record for a court, agency, program, or anyone else can also break the law.
6. What a record proves, and what it doesn't
A verified MeetingSlip record shows that:
- Our server recorded the check-in (and check-out, if there is one) at the times shown, by its own clock.
- At each step, the phone signed in to your account reported a GPS position within 200 meters of the meeting's listed location, after allowing for GPS accuracy.
- Check-in happened between 15 minutes before and 30 minutes after the scheduled start.
- The record has not been changed since we signed it.
- The phone's own Face ID or fingerprint check passed, and the phone signed a one-time code from our server with the key you registered. The record says whether Apple or Google confirmed that the genuine MeetingSlip app made that key, or whether the app's word couldn't be independently verified.
- If the record says your identity was verified: before that check-in, our identity verification provider matched a selfie to a government ID with the name shown.
A record does not show:
- Whose face or fingerprint was enrolled on the phone. A confirmed check-in shows the phone's enrolled owner unlocked it at check-in. It can't detect a second face or fingerprint added to the phone before you set it up, and it doesn't compare anyone's face to the ID.
- That you took part in the meeting or stayed in the room between check-in and check-out.
- That the phone's location wasn't faked in a way the phone didn't report.
- That the meeting actually took place as listed.
Every verify page and report says this too. "Full attendance" means you were checked in for at least 75% of the scheduled time.
7. No promise that anyone will accept a record
Courts, probation and parole offices, drug courts, employers, and treatment programs make their own decisions. We don't promise that any of them will accept a MeetingSlip record or report, or give it any weight. Ask the person you report to what they accept before you rely on MeetingSlip. You remain responsible for meeting the conditions you've been given, including any sign-in sheets or other proof they require.
8. Not legal, medical, or treatment advice
MeetingSlip is a record-keeping tool. Nothing in the app or on our website is legal advice, medical advice, or treatment. We don't recommend any meeting, program, or provider. For questions about your case, talk to your lawyer or your monitor. For questions about your health or treatment, talk to a qualified professional.
9. Not an emergency service
MeetingSlip doesn't watch for emergencies, and no one at MeetingSlip watches check-ins. Alerts a monitor chooses to get are not an emergency service. If you or someone else is in danger, call 911. In the United States you can call or text 988, the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, at any hour. The SAMHSA National Helpline, 1-800-662-4357, offers free, confidential treatment referral and information 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
10. Meeting listings come from others
Meeting names, addresses, times, and formats come from the SobaSearch directory, which gathers them from meeting groups, program offices, and other public sources. They can be wrong, out of date, or change without notice. A wrong listing can stop you from checking in, for example if the address or start time is off. Confirm details with the meeting before you go, and tell us about mistakes at hello@sobasearch.com. We can't create a record for a meeting you couldn't check in to.
11. Availability and no warranty
We work to keep MeetingSlip running, but it may be unavailable at times: during maintenance, if our providers have an outage, if you have no signal, or if your phone can't get a good GPS reading. Check-in only works inside the time window, so a problem at the wrong moment can mean a missed record. The same goes for Face ID, fingerprint, or ID checks that fail or can't be done. We may change or remove features.
MeetingSlip is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We don't promise that MeetingSlip will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that every check-in will succeed.
12. Limits on our liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, The Coaching Platform LLC and its people are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from a missed check-in, a record that wasn't accepted, a decision made by a court, agency, program, or other monitor, or a wrong meeting listing.
Our total liability for any claim about MeetingSlip is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for MeetingSlip in the 12 months before the claim, or $100. Some places don't allow these limits, so some may not apply to you.
13. Ending your use
You can stop using MeetingSlip at any time, and you can delete your account in the app (Account, then Delete account) as the privacy policy explains. Deleting your account deletes your records and reports, and no code you've shared can be verified after that.
We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if we must by law, or if we stop offering MeetingSlip. If we stop offering MeetingSlip, we'll give you reasonable notice so you can make reports first.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll post the new version here and change the date at the top. If a change matters, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using MeetingSlip after that, you accept the new terms.
15. Governing law
The laws of the State of Utah govern these terms and any dispute about MeetingSlip, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You and The Coaching Platform LLC agree that any lawsuit about these terms or MeetingSlip will be brought only in the state or federal courts located in Utah, and you consent to those courts' jurisdiction. If a law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim in your own courts, these terms don't take that right away.
